DEBATE TRAINING WORKSHOP
The Debate & Literary Club, in association with the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Club and IQAC, Mar Gregorios College of Law, successfully organized a Debate Training Workshop on 30 July 2026 at 11:30 AM in Sophia Hall. The programme was conducted with the objective of strengthening students' public speaking, debating, and critical thinking skills while fostering confidence in structured communication.
The workshop was led by Mr. Arjun S. Nair, a National-Level Orator, Debate Champion, and MUN Chair, who served as the resource person. Through engaging sessions, practical demonstrations, and interactive discussions, participants gained valuable insights into the fundamentals of debating, argument construction, rebuttal techniques, persuasive speaking, stage presence, and effective audience engagement. The programme also highlighted the significance of logical reasoning, research, and confident communication in academic and professional settings.
Students actively participated in the hands-on activities and interactive exercises, making the workshop both informative and engaging. The event provided an excellent platform for aspiring debaters to enhance their communication skills and prepare for future debate competitions, moot court activities, Model United Nations (MUN), and other public speaking events.
The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing participants to clarify their doubts and receive expert guidance. Participation certificates were issued by the NDLI Club to all participants, recognizing their active involvement in the programme. The event was a resounding success and reflected the institution's commitment to nurturing leadership, critical thinking, and effective communication among students.
