DEBATE TRAINING WORKSHOP

The NDLI Club, in association with the Debate & Literary Club and IQAC, Mar Gregorios College of Law, is organizing a Debate Training Workshop on 30 July 2026 at 11:30 AM in Sophia Hall. The programme is designed to strengthen students' public speaking, debating, and critical thinking skills by providing practical guidance from an accomplished national-level speaker.

The workshop will be led by Mr. Arjun S. Nair, a National-Level Orator, Debate Champion, and MUN Chair, who has extensive experience in competitive debating and public speaking. Through interactive sessions, demonstrations, and practical exercises, participants will gain valuable insights into the fundamentals of debating, including argument construction, logical reasoning, persuasive communication, rebuttal techniques, speech organization, confidence building, stage presence, and effective audience engagement.

The programme aims to equip students with the skills required for academic debates, moot court competitions, Model United Nations (MUNs), seminars, interviews, and leadership roles. Participants will also learn techniques to think critically, express ideas with clarity, respond confidently to opposing viewpoints, and present arguments in a structured and convincing manner.

The workshop is open to all students of the college who are interested in improving their communication and advocacy skills. It provides an excellent opportunity for beginners to understand the basics of debating while enabling experienced speakers to refine their techniques through expert guidance.
